The RIA congratulates Schlegel Research Chairs Heather Keller and Veronique Boscart for their appointment to the National Long-Term Care (LTC) Service Standards Technical Committee. This group, composed of leaders in the LTC sector, direct support workers, care partners and LTC residents, will work together with the Health Standards Organization (HSO) to develop the National LTC Services Standard starting in June 2021.

HSO’s National LTC service standards will provide LTC homes across Canada with evidence-informed practices to provide safe, reliable and high-quality care for residents.

Heather Keller, Schlegel Research Chair in Nutrition and Aging, and Veronique Boscart, CIHR/Schlegel Industrial Research Chair for Colleges in Seniors Care, will join the committee and provide their expertise in developing these standards. The RIA is pleased to support their efforts in creating safer, person-centered care standards for older adults across the nation.
