The Experiences of Persons Living with Dementia and Care Partners during the COVID-19 Pandemic

In this study, researchers investigated persons living with dementia, and family and friend care partners of persons living with dementia to understand how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted their well-being and social connections.

The researchers heard about the different ways in which participants supported their well-being and stayed connected with others. Two options (a survey and/or interview) were provided to participants to share their experiences related to COVID-19. The three documents are a summary of their findings from

  • care partners of persons living with dementia in the community,
  • persons living with dementia in the community, and
  • care partners of persons living with dementia in long-term care and retirement settings.
